OTTAWA, Ontario, March 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ - SavvyDox, a leading provider of cloud based document co-authoring and collaboration solutions has been awarded a 600 seat order from the Canadian Federal Government. The order is a direct result of SavvyDox' successful RFP submission to the Government's Build in Canada Innovation Program (BCIP).
Logo - SavvyDox will integrate with Active Directory, OpenText, and the Single Sign On solution for production by April 2016. When coupled with SavvyDox' document co-authoring and collaboration capabilities, the full end-to-end solution will provide significant productivity improvements for the Federal Government department. Opportunities providing measurable productivity improvements include audit reports, contract management, RFP preparation and response, development of external communication packages and briefing packages for executives, policy development, and management of document workflow and collaboration in the funding approval processes. SavvyDox' innovative solution aligns with the benefits of a face to face meeting providing document version control certifying that everyone always works from the current copy of a document; a full parallel review process ensuring everyone views everyone else's suggested changes in near real time; and support for threaded responses to other reviewer's comments. Unlike most parallel review solutions, SavvyDox guarantees that the document author has full document content control by accepting or rejecting the suggested reviewer changes.
In addition, SavvyDox provides the document author with complete command of who can access a document. The feature that has gained the greatest traction is the replacement for Word Track Changes (while still using Word) providing simplified document comprehension and measurable productivity improvements for both the document author and document reviewers. In addition to productivity improvements, SavvyDox' cloud based SaaS solution provides tightened security and improved document quality thanks to its unique parallel review process. While SavvyDox provides a complementary front end solution to Enterprise Content Management Systems and Enterprise File Sync and Share solutions, it can also run standalone as a lightweight document repository.

In parallel with the Government order, SavvyDox has added Professor Andy Adler from Carleton University to the Executive Advisory Committee. Adler is co-author of a document entitled 'Challenges in Collaborative Authoring Software' which notes that 'Unfortunately, since the de-facto way to jointly edit a document is to exchange draft versions between authors via email, there is typically no authoritative document or master copy. All collaborative authors are familiar with the version control 'nightmare' that can result.' Adler has remarked that 'SavvyDox addresses these issues with an intuitive and easy to use cloud based SaaS solution'. Hans Downer, CEO of SavvyDox noted 'The order from the Government of Canada has opened the door for similar opportunities across additional departments within the Government of Canada and in US Federal and State Governments. The use cases being deployed will demonstrate the productivity improvements, security enhancements, and strengthened document quality available to other governments and private enterprises. Adler to our Advisory Committee will provide deep subject matter insight into opportunities for improving collaborative authoring in the government and elsewhere.'

Ottawa, Canada (PRWEB) - SavvyDox, the best way to collaborate on a document review, has announced availability of SavvyDox for Mac. As of today, the beta version of SavvyDox’s Mac application can be downloaded from the company’s website. SavvyDox solves tablet and desktop document management issues for enterprises, government and publishers - all within an enterprise grade, private, hybrid or public cloud based secure infrastructure. It is an elegant solution for anyone requiring always-on, always up-to-date, mobile access to revised document details. SavvyDox represents a new paradigm for document collaboration for distributing and reviewing documents. Authors can upload documents directly from Microsoft Word on Windows, or any PDF file on Windows, Mac or iPad, and then share those documents among multiple recipients.
Anyone receiving the document can add comments, private or shared. Shared comments are immediately visible to the author and all other readers. It’s the best way to collaborate on a document review. This parallel review process also allows all recipients to link comments to other reviewers’ comments.

Instead of receiving multiple marked up documents back, the author receives one stream of sequential comments lined up with the page they are reviewing in Microsoft Word. SavvyDox provides the first viable alternative to Word’s Track Changes. The Mac release complements the existing iPad and Windows SavvyDox readers that are already available.
SavvyDox’s tracking of edits to a document is unique in the industry. Recipients are automatically notified of new versions, and can compare the latest version with the version that they were last reading (or any other version). There’s never any question of whether someone has the latest version of a document. As a cloud based system, SavvyDox also keeps track of access to documents. While accessing the cloud, SavvyDox Document Analytics allow authors to determine which readers have downloaded and opened their documents, and if required, a document can be revoked.
The application is available for download from and requires Mac OS X 10.7 or later (10.9 is recommended). About SavvyDox Founded in 2011, SavvyDox Inc. Provides innovative mobile document solutions. Targeting businesses, enterprises and government organizations around the world, our focus is on building products and solutions to resolve unmet client needs in document interaction, publishing and management.
